BASIC DATA MANAGEMENT SKILLS (PROGRAM CODE: RES-10-01)

Keeping in view the customized needs of working professionals in educational institutions, finance companies, cooperative societies, department stores, NGOs and other small offices with frequent data processing needs at basic level presentation and analysis, we have designed a twenty-hour training program by blending the applications of Windows Excel and SPSS. The training course thoroughly prepares the participants with hands on practices of basic database development, management and presentation skills by applying MS Excel and SPSS programs.

Module I Basic Database Development and Management Skills Using MS Excel
1 Develop and operate MS Excel files (create, open, update, save the *.xls files)
2 Copy from MS Word to MS Excel (*.doc to *.xls) data

Change from Text to Table and Table to Text document
4 Develop and apply simple arithmetical and statistical operations in MS Excel (sum, difference, division, multiplication, percentage, ratio, mean, median, mode, standard deviation, range, etc)
5 Transform data and results across worksheets
6 Produce simple graphs, diagrams, charts using MS Excel data
7 Assign data security levels in MS Excel formats
Module II Basic Database Development and Management Skills Using SPSS
8 Develop and operate simple SPSS files (create, open, update, save the *.sav files)
9 Create variables, assign values, labels, clear variables, and data types
10 Perform data entry in SPSS worksheet
11 Compute new variables, merge files, select cases, filter cases, sort cases, etc.
12 Product some descriptive statistics including frequency distribution, mean, median, mode, standard deviation, range, etc.
13 Produce different diagrams, graphs and charts, using SPSS database.

Transform SPSS output into MS Excel document
